What if Covid impacts the retreat or an event?

We will closely monitor the covid situation at all times. If it deems necessary to cancel the retreat you will be offered a refund or a spot on the next retreat at a later selected date. If necessary we will also be requiring negative covid 19 tests upon arrival at the retreat.

It is suggested to purchase travel insurance. If you get covid or another illness before the retreat and cannot attend, your spot is still non refundable.

How do I get my PADI Mermaid certification?

We have select dates available to take these courses as well as the option to book a private group session with your choice of dates.

What is the difference between the retreats and regular courses?

The retreats are 4 days all inclusive in a shared living space and include a freedive and mermaid certification as well as acro yoga and hypnotherapy sessions. The single day events are simply one time events solely for mermaid certifications with minimal freedive training.

What are the requirements to get the Freedive certification?

To view all the requirements for our different courses, visit the Course Levels tab!

Why do we have to apply for the retreat?

Our retreats are intimate and transformative experiences for all.  We want to ensure that all attendees are a good fit for the overall energy of the group and the retreat itself and that attendees are qualified to attend the training.

How old do I have to be to attend a retreat?

You must be 18 years or older to attend a retreat. Mermaid courses vary in age and can be found on the Course Levels tab.

Do I need any dive experience to sign up for a retreat or class?

No! You do not need any dive experience, however you do need to know how to swim.

Can I bring a friend, spouse or child with me on the retreats?

Due to the limited quantity and intimate nature of these retreats, you cannot bring anyone along with you.

Can I stay in my own accommodations separate from the group on retreats?

To ensure the retreats success we do not allow anyone to stay separate from the group in our shared housing.

What does shared space mean on the retreats?

This means you are sharing a home, bathroom, kitchen, living space and possible sleeping arrangement with the other attendees.

If I cannot attend the retreat after signing up can I get a refund?

Once you take a spot, there are no refunds for ANY reason.

How many spots are there on a retreat?

Each retreat is different and can be anywhere from 4 - 12 people, plus instructors.

What do I need to bring on a retreat?

Once you have signed up for the retreat you will be sent a detailed welcome packet with everything you need to know and bring for the retreat! Equipment you absolutely need to attend is: bi-fins, wetsuit and mermaid tail for most retreats unless otherwise specified.

Do I have to have a mermaid tail to attend?

Yes you do! If you are attending one of our mermaid freedive retreats you must bring a mermaid tail of some type with a monofin.

Can I bring my service animal?

We cannot allow service animals at this time due to shared accommodations

What if I’m not good at holding my breath and/or equalizing?

During the retreat you will learn breathing, meditation and equalization techniques that are used by world class Freedivers and are proven to calm the mind and body. Once you sign up, you will also gain access to PADI’s eLearning, allowing you to work on lessons and exercises that will help prep you for Freediving.

Where will my freedive certification be distributed from?

Our freedive certification retreats are through PADI.

Does everyone pass the certification retreats?

Majority of our students do pass the certification retreats. There is always a chance that a student does not meet all the requirements for the full level 1 certification but everyone will get a basic freediver certification.

Are all the retreats offered for certification?

While majority of our retreats are certification based, not all of them are. Some of our alumni, kids and speciality retreats will not be certification courses.
